Manuscript Submission and Peer Review Process

Journal manuscripts are accepted throughout the year via the journal submission portal. Manuscripts can also be emailed to jfsr.2022@gmail.com or afassconference@gmail.com.  All manuscripts undergo several rounds of intensive double-blind peer review. The chief editor makes the final decision to accept a manuscript for publication.  

 

Accepted research articles are usually between 5000 to 6000 words including references, tables, and figures. Shorter or longer articles are considered on their own merits. All articles must adhere to the APA current edition and JFSR authors’ guidelines.

The publication schedule is two issues per year. The first issue is published in June, while the second issue is published in December. All issues are available online and print copies may be obtained on request at additional cost from the AFASS office at the Department of Home Science and Management, University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

 

Roles of JFSR Editors

JFSR editors are essential to the process of scholarly publishing. Their duties guarantee the caliber, honesty, and applicability of the material that is published in their periodicals. Their roles include:

 

• Initial screening: Assesses submitted manuscripts for relevance, originality, and adherence to journal standards.
  • Peer review coordination: Selects and manages reviewers, interprets feedback, and coordinates the peer review process.
  • Decision Making: Based on reviews and judgment, editors make final decisions, including accepting, revising, or rejecting articles.
  • Maintaining Editorial Standards: Ensures articles meet ethical, scientific, and editorial standards, upholds policies on plagiarism, data integrity, and conflicts of interest.
  • Guiding Journal Strategy: Shapes the journal's vision, recruits high-quality submissions, and provides constructive feedback.
  • Promoting the Journal: Enhances journal's visibility through outreach, indexing, and engagement with the research community.
